Method for judging the performance of sublimation transfer paper

Time:2020-05-13  Keywords:Suzhou Jigu New Material Co., Ltd

Sublimation transfer paper is one of the important consumables for sublimation transfer technology. The quality of the transfer paper determines the quality of the pattern on the substrate to a large extent.

The performance of sublimation transfer paper can be judged from the following aspects:

1. Transfer rate

The transfer rate is the most basic and most important performance of sublimation transfer paper. The transfer rate mainly reflects the sublimation of the sublimation ink after transfer. The transfer rate is high, that is, most of the sublimation ink of the transfer paper is effectively sublimated. At present, there is no standardized detection method for the transfer rate. Some companies currently check the transfer rate by specifying the ink patch to transfer under standard transfer conditions and measuring the color chromaticity ratio on the transfer paper before and after transfer.

2. See-through situation

The penetration phenomenon of sublimation transfer paper refers to the phenomenon that ink penetrates into the base paper through the coating. In most cases, the phenomenon of see-through is obvious, and the transfer rate of dye-sublimation transfer paper will decrease, resulting in poor transfer effect and other phenomena. At present, the penetration of sublimation transfer paper mainly depends on the naked eye observation, and there is no standardized detection method to digitally reflect it.

3. Drying speed

The drying speed of the sublimation transfer paper refers to the drying speed of the transfer paper after inkjet printing. The fast drying speed not only allows continuous printing to speed up production efficiency, but also reduces print quality problems caused by the ink is not dry.

There is no standard detection method for the drying rate, and currently the surface hygrometer method is usually used for detection and calculation.

4. Paper flatness

The flatness of the paper surface directly affects print production. The transfer paper with poor flatness is easy to cause friction with the inkjet head in digital inkjet printing, which not only affects the printing quality, but also easily damages the nozzle, and makes the equipment life short.

5. Warpage

The warpage phenomenon is caused by the inconsistency of the stretch rate of the coating surface and the base paper surface , which will cause inconvenience for the printer to feed paper, folds after printing, misalignment of the transfer pattern, etc., affecting the normal production progress . High-quality dye-sublimation transfer paper generally has a certain resistance to warpage, reducing the adverse effects of warpage on production.
